Hey there, hi there, ho there! Are you well? I double hope so!
Going to try my hand at a little poetry today. Now now! Before you reach for your computer mouse, read a few lines first. And if I don’t get a hold of a little bit of your interest, before you give me the cold stare, then you can drop the computer mouse on me. No pressure. Here goes…
While watching a professional football game, I noticed that not a single referee had a penalty flag.
I stood and stared at my Samsung TV, and told myself it had to be a gag.
How were they planning to call any penalties if they didn’t have a flag to throw?
How would the players know they had caused a penalty, I was so curious to know.
Would the refs throw a shoe, or a hat, or their whistles on the ground?
Or would they simply fuss and cuss, and holler too much, whenever a player caused them to frown?
So I sat back on the couch, scratched my head, and the answer became completely clear to me.
An explanation so plain, and so mundane, it should have been the easiest thing for me to see.
Some guy at the stadium must have seen that the penalty flags were not too neat or preened.
So he did his duty, but must have forgotten, he had sent the penalty flags out to be dry cleaned.
I’ll bet you never wondered if they ever clean the penalty flags, huh? Me neither, until today. Just one to grow on, I guess.
I’m very glad you stopped by for a read. It always means a lot. Stay cool and stay blessed. B. Y. E.
